Bulb planting can be a never-ending gardening task which only seems worthwhile when the blooms emerge months later in the garden, but this bulb planter will make planting your bulbs as enjoyable as watching them emerge! You drive the planter into the ground with your feet, turn the tool 45 degrees to one side and remove the planter from the soil. When the next hole is made, the soil from the previous hole is ejected from the top of the tool. The bulb planter is available with this stainless steel handle, but we also have a version with a handle from ash wood or the more manageable hand bulb planter.

The hand cultivator is ideally suited to remove weeds with long roots, aerate the soil, mix compost or other fertilizers through the soil and can be used in all types of soil. During the pull motion the soil is overturned which improves aeration and during the push motion the overturned soil is broken up into smaller pieces. The hand cultivator can be delivered with an ash or cherry wood handle of different sizes. Other hand cultivators with one or more tines are also available.

The daisy weeder is modelled after an antique Victorian tool, whose function is as relevant in today’s world as it was in the 19th century. By using the daisy weeder during the wetter periods in the year, the root of these weeds can be removed in full with relative ease by sticking the end of the weeder in the soil with the weed in between and the using the tube as a point for leverage. This removes strain from the wrists and the weed is removed with the entire root. The daisy weeder can be delivered with a normal ash handle or a specially shaped cherry wood handle.

The best moment to use any of these trowels is when the soil is moist. When the soil is too dry, the roots of weeds tend to break when these are removed allowing the weed to regrow. The narrow blade of the dandelion trowel ensures that weeds van be removed quickly without damaging the surround plants or vegetation. The ground elder fork was created after a request by the Hortus in the Dutch city of Leiden, which was looking for a way to remove the stubborn ground elder. This ingenious tool is the result of that request. Besides this specific function, the ground elder fork can be used to transplant small plants and to harvest crops in the vegetable garden such as potatoes, onions and garlic.
